The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the convening of an emergency ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) after the Arab emergency summit scheduled to be held in Cairo on the 27th of this month.
The Egyptian news website Youm7 reported that Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty had conducted communications with several foreign ministers of OIC member states, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, and Jordan, to discuss developments regarding the Palestinian issue.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the communications resulted in a preliminary agreement to hold an emergency ministerial meeting of the OIC after the Arab emergency summit, scheduled to take place in Cairo on the 27th of this month.
The meeting aims to reaffirm the established Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic stance on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the right to self-determination and to live in their homeland on their own land.
