Friends of Ma’loula Association organized Saturday a signature ceremony for the researcher Elias Antoun Nasrallah’s book entitled ‘Aramaeans and their Aramaic language .. History and Money…Reality and Hopes.”
The book is the 5th part of the Ma’loula Encyclopedia, which Nasrallah issued to preserve and document the historic heritage of the ancient town [Ma’loula] located about 60 kilometers northeast of Damascus, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The agency quoted Minister of Tourism Bisher Yazigy as saying in the signature ceremony held in the ‘Dama Rose’ Hotel in Damascus that Ma’loula town represents the Syrians’ cling onto their heritage.
“Like other Syrian cities, Ma’loula had suffered from terrorism before the Syrian army restored stability and peace to it,” he added, stressing that the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with Damascus Countryside Governorate are carrying out plans to make Ma’loula town a tourist attraction again.
This town was occupied by Takfiri terrorists from September 2013 till April 2014 . And its people were displaced and their homes were damaged during this period.
Friends of Ma’loula Association founded in 2006 holds cultural and tourist activities inside Syria and abroad.
