Election campaigns of Presidential candidates to come to a halt tomorrow morning

The election campaigns of the three presidential candidates are to stop at 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 25th, so declaring the start of electoral silence period, the Higher Judicial Committee for Elections announced in a statement on Monday.

According to article 58 of the 2014 General Elections Law, the election campaigns stop 24 hours before the date fixed for holding the elections, thus the current election campaigns of the presidential candidates are to halt Tuesday morning, the committee said.

 On May 10th, the Supreme Constitutional Court issued the final list of presidential candidates that included Abdullah Salloum Abdullah, Bashar Hafez al-Assad and Mahmoud Ahmad Meri.

Presidential elections in Syria are scheduled to be held on Wednesday, May 26th  2021.
