CAIRO,(ST)_ A number of Egyptian military experts and politicians stressed that the last speech of the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, came as failed attempt to engage the Egyptian army into the crisis in Syria in implementation of US decisions, pointing out that the Egyptian army categorically refuses to interfere in the internal affairs of any Arab state.
In an interview with the Syrian TV yesterday, Maj. Gen. Mustafa al-Badri, a military expert said that the Egyptian armed forces do not agree on the decision, Morsi announced and that Egypt can not accept hostility to any Arab country, especially Syria, whose security is an extension of Egyptian strategic security.
Badri added that it is unlikely to have enmity between Egypt and sisterly Syria , noting that Morsi’ s decision came to appease America and Qatar.
For his part, Maj. Gen. Mamdouh Abdel Menem, a military expert, said that the doctrine of the Egyptian armed forces is strong and steady to that not to interfere in the affairs of or against any Arab country or in the system or what was favored by the people or against the legitimacy chosen by the people in any Arab country.
He added that any Egyptian interference is only for the defense of any Arab country against external aggression, according to the Arab joint defense agreements.
Hani Ammara , Chairman of the Journalists Union noted the large national affiliation within the Egyptian armed forces , adding that it did not happen in the history of the Egyptian army that it challenged any Arab brotherly army and therefore it will not happen in Morsi time , nor in the time of others.
He explained that the Egyptian army is strong , conscious and mature and can not be drawn into such confrontation or interference.
Mahmoud Attia, head of (coalition Egypt over all) said that those who advised Morsi of what he recently said put him in a big trouble that will be in the most despicable wastebasket in Arab history.
” It is a shame on us as Arabs to see Russian President Vladimir Putin saying that arming the terrorists in Syria is for slaughtering the Syrian people, while we do nothing.” Attia added.
