Some Egyptian politicians described President Bashar Al-Assad’s speech after taking the oath of office on Saturday as frank and optimistic, stressing that it indicates Syria’s victory over its enemies.
Mohammad Fayyad, member of the Political Bureau of the Egyptian Progressive Gathering Party told SANA correspondent in Cairo that President Al-Assad’s speech declared the start of a new stage of Arab resistance against the forces which conspired on Syria to implement the “New Middle East” scheme and the so-called “”Deal of the Century”. He pointed out that Syria will continue to be the forefront in the confrontation of the Zionist scheme.
Mohsen Al-Attieh, former member of the Egyptian Parliament and member of the Executive Bureau of the Egyptian Nasserist Party said that President Al-Assad’s speech has practically diagnosed the Syrian, Arab and international scene and stressed that Syria hasn’t abandoned its national policies and principles despite the terrorist war that targeted it.
On his part, Sayyed Al-Assyoti, Deputy Head of the Human Rights and Citizenship Party in Egypt, said that President al-Assad’s speech shed light on the situation in Syria. It analyzed events during the past years, drew up the features of the near future and focused on reconstructing what the terrorist war has destroyed, he added.
