Egyptian politicians criticize European Union’s cancelling of the meeting with Arab League because of Syria’s participation in the league’s meetings

Egyptian politicians and experts criticized the European Union’s cancellation of the expected ministerial meeting with the Arab League on the 20th of this month, due to the resumption of Syria’s participation in the League’s meetings.

Head of the Arab Nasserite Party, Muhammad al-Nimr, said in a statement to RT: “The decision to return Syria to its normal role in the Arab League is considered one of the advantages that the Arab people waited for after the great conspiracy against the Syrian people, which didn’t conquer them.”

Al-Nimr pointed out that the European Union’s refusal to meet with the Arab League is an affirmation of its role in the conspiracy against the Arab people, not only in Syria, but all the Arab people, and confirms the European Union’s subordination to the decision makers in the United States and the Zionist entity.

Al-Nimr called on the Arab nation and the Arab League to adhere to its position regarding the presence of Syria in the League and to stand with the Syrian people to build their country

For his part, Zuhdi al-Shami, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Socialist People’s Alliance Party, said: “Europe’s cancellation of the expected ministerial meeting with the Arab League on the 20th of this month is unfortunate, and clearly indicates Europe’s unacceptable interference in the affairs of other countries.”

Al-Shami stressed that such an Arab decision to return a member country to its seat is an Arab matter and it is not acceptable for foreign countries to interfere in it. It considered that such a European position actually indicates a European desire to continue crises, problems and tension in the Arab region, instead of reducing them and finding solutions to them.

For his part, the Egyptian political researcher in national security affairs, Ahmed Refaat, affirmed that the European Union insists on being subordinate to the American foreign policy, stressing that its position on Syria’s return to the Arab League is a blatant interference in Arab affairs.
