Egyptian politician: Martyrs’ sacrifices in war on terrorism played major role in foiling global conspiracy against Syria
Head of the Democratic Generation Party in Egypt Naji Al-Shehabi, the General Coordinator of the National Alliance of the Egyptian Political Parties, has stressed that by commemorating Martyrs’ Day, Syria celebrates all the martyrs of the Arab homeland who sacrificed themselves in the Arabs’ battle against colonialism and Zionism.
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Cairo, Al-Shehabi said that the sacrifices of Syria’s martyrs in the war on terrorism have played a major role in confronting and foiling the US-led global conspiracy against the country.
He saluted Syria’s martyrs who offered their souls for the homeland to be safe, united and independent, stressing the need to get the coming generation acquainted with the sacrifices of these martyrs.
“Martyrs’ Day, observed every year on May 6th, will continue to be the day of sacrifice, heroism and giving, said Al-Shehabi, pointing out that “we, as Arab nationalists, will always remember how the Turkish occupation hanged our hero freedom fighters, and we will continue to be inspired by the martyrs’ heroic deeds so that we continue the struggle against enemies of the Arab nation”.
Al-Shehabi hailed the steadfastness of Syria, as leadership, army and people, in the confrontation of the global conspiracy hatched against it, affirming that the Arab homeland is indebted to the sacrifices of Syria’s martyrs and to the Syrian Arab Army and the Syrian leadership in confronting this conspiracy that aimed at dividing, fragmenting and destroying the Arab countries.
