Cairo (ST): Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri stressed that the Turkish occupation of parts of the Syrian territories harshly damages the whole region, calling at the same time to find out a political solution to the crisis in Syria that preserves its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Al-Ahram newspaper quoted the Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez as saying, that Shukri reiterated the importance of confronting the threat of terrorism and terrorist organizations and their supporters, especially those stationed in Idleb and northwestern Syria. He also affirmed the necessity of reaching a political settlement to the crisis according to UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254.
Shuukri asserted Egypt’s firm rejection of the Turkish regime’s attempts to make demographic changes in some Syrian areas and change their structures.
