Egypt’s Sisi Urges Political Solution to Crisis in Syria away from Military Action

CAIRO- President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt has stressed the need to solve the crisis in Syria politically away from military action and to maintain Syria’s territorial integrity.

In an exclusive interview with the Russia “Sputnik” news agency, al-Sisi said “We must recognize the existence of huge terrorist extremist groups in Syria. If the situation is not controlled, these groups will spread to outside Syria and will pose a serious threat to many other countries.”

“We are adherent to certain principles in this respect represented in the importance of solving the crisis in Syria politically away from military action, of maintaining Syria’s territorial integrity and of working effectively to get the terrorist groups out of Syria immediately,” President al-Sisi clarified.
