Egypt Renews Call for Fighting terrorism, Reaching Political Solution to Crisis in Syria

CAIRO, (ST)-Egyptian Foreign Ministry has renewed its support for efforts aiming at fighting terrorism and at attaining a political solution to the crisis in Syria, a solution that preserves the country’s territorial integrity and protects the state’s institutions.

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said  Egypt has worked hard as to support efforts aiming to end the crisis in Syria and it is looking forward to seeing security and stability achieved across the country.”  

 “The efforts exerted by Egypt with all Syrian sides start from the country’s faith in the need to encourage positive interaction with the political process sponsored by the United Nations through the intra-Syrian talks in Geneva, said the statement.

It added that Egypt’s participation in the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) “has reflected Egypt’s stance which is based on several principles including rejecting military solution in Syria, protecting  the Syrian statehood, fighting terrorism and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Syria people.
