Egypt: Foreign Intervention in Syria’s Affairs Should be Stopped

NEW YORK, (ST)- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri has stressed his country’s full support for the efforts exerted by the UN and the UN Special Envoy for Syria Straffan de Mistura as to solve the crisis in Styria, affirming the need to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and Arabism.

In a statement during a UN meeting in New York on Monday on the sideline of UN General Assembly’s session, Shukri reiterated the need to stop foreign intervention in the internal affairs of Syria and to unify regional and international efforts as to find a practical and an acceptable formula for a solution to the crisis in Syria in accordance with relevant Security Council Resolutions.  

 The statement pointed out that the UN meeting dealt with the latest developments in Syria as well as the security and political situation there .
