CAIRO, (ST) _ Egyptian Vice President for Foreign Affairs Mohamed El-Baradei renewed Egypt’s keenness on finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria, very soon, to achieve stability in the region.
According to the Middle East News Agency, El-Baradei discussed with Lakhdar Brahimi, the UN envoy to Syria latest developments in Syria and ways to resolve the crisis, politically.
The agency noted that Brahimi reviewed during the meeting, developments of the situation in Syria “and the efforts made in cooperation with Arab and international parties” to resolve the crisis and hold an international conference on Syria to reach a political solution to its crisis.
Last Friday, the Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy stressed that Egypt’s position is fixed on the quest to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria so as to preserve its territorial integrity and people.
