Egypt declares a state of emergency for three months and a curfew in areas in Sinai

On April 25th, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced the imposition of a state of emergency throughout the country for a period of three months due to the dangerous security and health conditions that the country is going through.

The Seventh Day website stated that the state of emergency begins at one o’clock this morning, according to President Sisi’s decision.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced the imposition of a curfew in a number of areas in North Sinai.

This decision will take effect from one o’clock this morning, Sunday.

The total number of Coronavirus infections that were registered in Egypt reached 221,570, including 166,457 cases that were recovered and 12,998 deaths.
