Budapest (ST): Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi renewed his country’s call for concerted international efforts to combat terrorism and work to reach a binding legal agreement regulating the filling and operation of the Nahda Dam based on the rules of international law.

During a joint press conference following his talks with his Hungarian counterpart, Janus Ader, in Budapest, Sisi pointed out the need for concerted efforts by the international community to besiege the scourge of terrorism at all levels and work to uproot it.

With regard to the crisis of the Nahda Dam that Ethiopia is building on the Nile River, the Egyptian President presented his country’s suffering from a water crisis, recalling that the civilization of Egypt over tens of thousands of years was established only on the Nile River.

He stressed the need to reach a binding legal agreement regulating the filling and operation of the Renaissance Dam based on the rules of international law and the presidential statement of the Security Council in this regard.
