Egypt and Iraq stress the need to boost bilateral cooperation to the highest levels

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani discussed relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to improve bilateral cooperation in various aspects, especially security, trade exchange and investments.
During his meeting with  Al-Sudani  , who is visiting Egypt at the head of a high-level governmental delegation, Al-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s firm support for the security and stability of Iraq, pride in the depth and strength of the strategic relations between the two countries, and keenness to strengthen and diversify the frameworks of mutual cooperation in various political, economic, commercial and cultural fields whether at the bilateral level or through the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Jordan.
For his part, the Iraqi Prime Minister praised the close and historical fraternal ties linking Egypt and Iraq, stressing his country’s keenness to strengthen the mechanisms of bilateral and constructive cooperation with Egypt, especially in light of the results of his recent visit to this country last March, which was positive on several levels.
Al-Sudani added: The pace of mutual visits between the two sides reflects the keenness to push bilateral relations to broader horizons during the coming period.
The two sides exchanged views on Arab and regional issues of common interest, in the light of the pivotal role of the two countries in the region. The two countries’ keenness to enhance joint Arab action was affirmed.
