Educational Development Conference kicks activities today

Under the patronage of President Bashar Al-Assad, the activities of the Educational Development Conference in Syria kicks off today under the title “A future educational vision to strengthen the building of the man and the country”.

The conference is held by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education at the Conference Palace in Damascus and will last unti the 28th of September.

The participants will discuss the future national strategy for education in Syria and the institutionalization of alternative education, the integration of education and higher education systems, the changing roles of the teacher and the learner in the 21th century, the new active education, the development of educational curricula and their role in building the nation and the citizen.

 Issues that will be tackled in the conference include the general framework of educational curricula, the content of school books and activities and the development of vocational training and technical education and linking them to the labor market. Also the application of quality standards on the components of the educational process and the situation of kindergartens and prospects for its development will also be reviewed during the conference.

On the sidelines of the conference, workshops on vocational education, the curricula and their components in a changing world, integration at pre-university and university educational institutions, the educational integration of the disabled people and private education will also be held.

Arab and foreign intellectuals, experts from the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, academic and research centers and NGOs in Syria, and representatives of relevant international organizations will participate in the conference.
