Education Ministry begins a health awareness campaign about cholera in schools

Damascus (ST): The Directorate of School Health in the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Department of Communication on Risks and Community Participation in the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), launched an awareness and health education campaign about cholera.
The Director of School Health in the Ministry, Dr. Hatoon Al-Tawashi, confirmed in a statement that the campaign targets all governorate schools, as teams of health educators working in school health departments in the education directorates in the governorates were trained on cholera, its symptoms and means of preventing infection, with emphasis on the importance of hygiene, washing hands, ensuring the safety of drinking water and staying away from exposed and contaminated food, to convey this information to school students and stress the need to adhere to it.
