Education Minister holds talks with a number of delegations participating in the ALESCO conference in Jeddah on strengthening and educational relations
On the sidelines of the 27th session of the General Conference of Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), held in Jeddah, the Syrian Minister of Education Muhammad Amer Al-Mardini discussed with the designated President of the General Conference of the organization and head of the Saudi delegation, Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy, focusing on the important role of education in building society through raising the generation correctly, and developing educational relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia.
Al-Mardini reviewed the Ministry’s plan to develop the educational process and ensure the quality of education, the rehabilitation of damaged schools, and the role of the local community in supporting the educational sector in Syria. He pointed to the importance of exchanging educational experiences and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Al-Sudairi pointed to the complementary role of the family alongside the school, which contributes to creating an educated and aware generation, explaining the importance of strengthening Syrian-Saudi educational relations.
During his meeting with the Director General of the Organization Mohamed Ould Omar, Al-Mardini highlighted Syria’s important historical role and effective participation in all of the Organization’s activities.
During the meeting with the Lebanese Minister of Culture, Judge Muhammad Wisam Murtada, Al-Mardini reviewed the ministry’s work in the field of developing the educational reality and updating legislation. He noted the importance of education in society and its reflection on all aspects of life and the necessity of strengthening educational and scientific cooperation with Lebanon.
In turn, Murtada stressed that the relation betqeen the two countries historically and geographically requires joint work to confront challenges, indicating that the greatest challenge lies in raising the new generation educationally.
During Al-Mardini’s meeting with the Chairman of the Palestinian National Committee for Education, Culture and Science Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri, he stressed Syria’s position in support of the Palestinian cause and the role of education and culture in promoting the concepts of citizenship and introducing the rights of the Palestinian people.
During his meeting with the Minister of Education of the Sultanate of Oman Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shaibaniyah, Al-Mardini pointed to the importance of joint cooperation in various educational fields.
For her part, Al-Shaibaniyah stressed Syria’s ancient historical and cultural role and the importance of exchanging experiences between the two countries, especially in the fields of educational curricula and promoting the Arabic language.
The Minister of Education also discussed with the Algerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Walid Al-Sharif the importance of strengthening educational and cultural relations between the two countries.
