Education Minister and Representative of UN Office for Project Services in Jordan discuss educational cooperation

On July 26th, the Minister of Education DaremTabaa discussed with Representative and Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services in Jordan Muhammad Othman Akram and the accompanying delegation, the axes of educational cooperation between the two sides, and the needs of future projects.

Minister Tabaa explained the ministry’s priorities related to training teachers, building their capacities, and addressing school dropouts and educational loss.

Minister Tabaa noted that the rehabilitation of schools takes place through two tracks, the first comes as part of the response to the repercussions of the earthquake that struck the country last February, and the second is the regular rehabilitation of school buildings damaged as a result of the war.

In his turn, Akram pointed to the need to motivate education sector partners to provide financial support for the projects of the Ministry of Education, and to follow up on managing them in coordination with United Nations agencies and managing budgets.

He noted that work is underway to rehabilitate five schools in Hama as a first stage, while securing solar energy equipment for them.
