Education Minister and head of the Egyptian Teachers Syndicate Discuss Common Educational Issues, Ways to Enhance Cooperation

Damascus (ST) – Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, discussed on Monday with the head of the Egyptian Teachers Syndicate Khalaf Al-Zinati Arab educational cooperation, the role of teachers in building the idea of citizenship and belonging, and the reality of education and education development plans in Syria and Egypt.

Dr. Tabaa stressed the role of teachers in the Arab world in promoting the Arabic language and preserving Arab civilization and heritage.

He called for holding an Arab conference for teachers to discuss the transformation in education, the development of schools and curricula, and its impact on society.

Dr. Tabaa pointed out that the ministry, despite the difficulties imposed by the terrorist war on Syria, continues to work on focusing on human and moral values and life skills, in addition to paying attention to securing education for all children and supporting all its requirements.

In turn, Al-Zinati stressed the distinguished relations between the teachers of the two countries. He pointed out that the education in Egypt targets more than 20 million children in the pre-university stage.

Al-Zinati called for continuous coordination of visits between the two countries.

The head of the Syrian Teachers Syndicate Waheed Al-Zaal affirmed the role of teachers in promoting Arab belonging.
