Education Directorate, SARC in Hasakah rehabilitate three damaged schools

The Education Directorate and the branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in Hasakah province have completed the maintenance and rehabilitation of three damaged schools to support the education process in this province.

Head of SARC branch Ali Mansour told SANA that the rehabilitation works were achieved by SARC volunteers with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Education Directorate in Hasakah.

The rehabilitation works of the schools, which were damaged during events in Syria, included installing water tanks, painting the classrooms and corridors, maintaining the electrical network and sanitary lines, maintaining the doors and windows, preparing the courtyards, manufacturing 270 desks and installing a solar energy system.

Director of Education in Hasakah Ilham Sourkhan stressed the importance of carrying out the rehabilitation works for the three schools so that they can be put into service before the start of the academic year.

It is to be noted that about 3,651,923 students from various education levels will go to their schools on Sunday, September 4th, 2022, marking the start of the new academic year in Syria.

13,660 schools and institutes in different Syrian governorates have been well-prepared to receive the students.
