DAMASCUS,(ST) – The Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, has already prepared a draft decree modifying the legislative decrees No. 6 and 19 for the year 2009, ” to create a Development and Export Promotion Association and a Development Fund of Exports and the need to establish a body for the “development and promotion of domestic production and exports”.
The draft decree aims to support domestic production, especially export and improve productivity so as to enhance the quality of products and enable Syrian companies and facilities to meet local needs and enter foreign markets.
Within this framework, the Minister of Economy Dr. Hammam al -Jazairi clarified that developing support policies came in an effort to compensate for the facilities for the high costs and the expansion of the production, export and re-balancing of the productive process and the restoration of production chains, institutions and productive companies.
The minister pointed out that these steps are part of the development of institutional framework, especially among small and medium-sized companies and this step represents a new component of the measures and policies adopted by the government to restructure the production process and promote economic growth projects.
The Association of Development and Promotion of Exports was created by Legislative Decree No. 6 of 2009 as a body that does not aim to profit but to promote Syrian exports in international markets and works as a joint between foreign suppliers and Syrian exporters and provides assistance to both parties through the strengthening of relations between them and provides the Syrian businessmen to partners and foreign investors, foreign suppliers to provide information on the economic conditions and expectations of the market and data on exporters, the laws and regulations in Syria.
