Economy Minister: Free Zones in Lattakia to Absorb Textile, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries

LATTAKIA, (ST) – Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Dr. Hammam al -Jazairri confirmed that the land and sea free zones in Lattakia will converted  to two areas that absorb textile, chemical and pharmaceutical as clean industries.

The  minister said, during a meeting with economic activities in Lattakia,  that currently the  work is going on the protection of the local product,where as the process of producing materials locally supported, noting that the most important is to support farmers and  market their products at a reasonable price and not allow for alternative goods to influence them.

Mr. al -Jazairri pointed out that the government attaches great importance to the dairy industry and the production of cheese and all the stages leading to the creation of a laboratory for the manufacture and marketing of dairy, pointing out that the Syrian coast is considered a promising area for this project and the start will be in Lattakia.
