Economy Minister: Fairgrounds to Regain Activity

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Khider Orfali underlined that the fairgrounds began to regain its activity to return in the near future to be ready to receive any economic event of international exhibitions and events and activities for this season of the year to prove that Syria is holding up despite the challenges, difficulties and unjust sanctions against the Syrian people.

The minister, during his visit to the fairgrounds, clarified that the city provided all facilities to the industrialists, traders and workers in the services sector and equipped them with alternative places, pointing out that the city is the first of its kind in the Middle East, with an area estimated at one million two hundred thousand meters and includes all services and basic needs.

Dr. Orfali pointed out that the General Establishment of Fairs and International Markets constitutes an important supporter to the national economy especially that its revenues reached during the first half of this year, more than one billion Syrian pounds and expected to increase with the second half of the year.
