Economic dialogue forum kicks off in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Feb.7, (ST)- Under the slogan “Investment, Banks and Small Enterprises… The Three Parts of Economic Recovery”, the economic dialogue forum kicked off on Monday at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus with the participation of businessmen and representatives of government bodies concerned with the sectors of industry, trade, agriculture, investment and finance.

The participants in the forum will discuss the government’s vision and the viewpoints of businessmen, industrialists, experts and academics about the aspects of supporting and encouraging investment projects with the aim of reaching constructive results.

The viewpoints of the private sector, owners of small projects, institutions and microfinance banks about using financial tools to finance or expand new projects and support their basic services with the aim of linking the three parts of economic recovery will be also on the table.

The dialogue aims to reach practical measures to serve and finance industrial and investment projects, develop the necessary business environment through legislations and procedures, and identify current and future investment opportunities in Syria.
