MOSCOW, (ST)- Maria, Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, has stressed that the return of locals to their areas in eastern Ghouta indicates that normal life has started to be restored there.
“Eastern Ghouta will soon restore normal life as in Aleppo,” Itar Tass news agency quoted Zakharova as saying in an interview with the Russian Channel 5.
“There have been evident improvements, recorded by the United Nations and humanitarian organizations. The process of evacuating civilians and liberating the city is under way. After a little while, Eastern Ghouta will follow the example of Aleppo, where about 100,000-200,000 people have already returned to their homes. Although it is less than the city’s pre-war population, it clearly demonstrates that the life is returning back to normal,” she said.
Today evening, the Syrian towns of Erbin, Zamalka, Ein Tarma and Jobar in eastern Ghouta were declared free of terrorism after the last batch of terrorists and their families were evacuated to Idleb.
