During his meeting with the Iranian ambassador, Sabbagh: Syrian-Iranian relations are historical and rooted

Damascus (ST): People’s Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed the depth and strength of the historical relations between Syria and Iran, which offered the blood of martyrs from both countries in order to defend their just causes and confront the aggressive policies pursued by the United States of America and the Zionist entity.

During his meeting  with the Iranian ambassador in Damascus, Mahdi Sobhani, Sabbagh referred to Iran’s supportive stances for Syria, indicating the importance of continuing to work on upgrading these relations more in various fields, which would reflect positively on the interests of both countries.

Sabbagh pointed out that the repeated attacks of the Zionist entity on Syrian territory are nothing but desperate attempts by it to destabilize Syria, stressing that these attacks will only increase the Syrians’ steadfastness and adherence to their land, identity and resistance until the final victory over terrorism.

In turn, Ambassador Sobhani expressed his country’s confidence in Syria’s steadfastness and its continued standing against terrorism and its supporters and financiers, noting the role of the People’s Assembly in Syria and the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Iran in strengthening and consolidating bilateral relations.

Ambassador Sobhani condemned the repeated attacks of the Zionist entity on Syrian lands and the safe civilians there, stressing that they will not undermine the will and determination of the Syrian people in the face of projects and conspiracies being hatched against them.
