During 2022, 41 investment licenses issued, and more than 9,000 beneficiaries of the Enterprise Development Authority programs

Damascus (ST): Granting investment licenses for multi-sectoral projects, including those related to energy, agriculture, industry and tourism, providing thousands of job opportunities, developing small and medium enterprises, holding specialized internal and external exhibitions, direct selling and promoting Syrian products constituted the most prominent fields of work of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade during the year 2022.

Syrian Investment Authority: 41 investment licenses granted by the Commission in accordance with Investment Law No. 18 of 2021, with an estimated cost of 868 billion Syrian pounds, and it is expected to provide 3,646 job opportunities.

The General Organization for International Exhibitions and Fairs: 41 specialized exhibitions were organized, 27 of which were held on the grounds of the fairgrounds in Damascus, and 14 exhibitions were held in a number of governorates. Approvals were granted to establish 77 bazaars and 25 shopping festivals.

Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority: About 9,054 people benefited from various programs, exhibitions, marketing festivals, promotional activities, qualification programs, guaranteed training, capacity building, business incubators, and the promotion of access for many workers in this sector to finance and work, or to establish their own projects.

The General Organization for Free Zones: The value of the revenues of the General Organization for Exhibitions amounted to about 25.5 billion Syrian pounds, while the number of investors reached 726 investors, and the value of the invested capital reached 375 million Syrian pounds, and the number of workers in the invested establishments reached 4911 workers.

Import substitution program: More than 71 materials distributed to the industrial and agricultural sectors have been included in this program since its launch until now. The number of investors who applied to benefit from the benefits of the program for the approved materials and sectors reached 103 investors, of which 69 applications were approved, distributed between 55 in the field of industry and 14 in the field of agriculture. They are allocated within cities and industrial areas respectively.

Interest rate support programme: Since its launch in 2019, the number of projects benefiting from the program has reached 307 projects, with a total support value of about 7 billion Syrian pounds.

38 sub-programs were launched through this program within specific targeting criteria, including 37 operational programs to establish, operate or restore facilities from the industrial and agricultural sectors, and one program to support fire victims in 2020.
