Dumas criticized France Attitudes on Syrian Crisis

PARIS,(ST)_ French former Foreign Minister Roland Dumas stressed that , France is moving light-hearted about the crisis in Syria, pointing out that the French foreign policy is miscalculated  and the need of taking into account the positions of all countries in the region.

In an interview with the French ” Course Matan” site, Dumas criticized the French foreign policy, and Foreign Minister Roland Fabius attitudes, considering them as being dragged behind the US and Israeli policy to go to war, in contradiction with the traditions of French politics which usually seek and defend peace.

He noted the Russian important role in the region and concerning the crisis in Syria and its legitimate interests by providing weapons to the Syrian Arab army in accordance with agreements signed between the two sides , while we see France sending arms to terrorists .

 

He described the French position concerning the crisis in Syria as rigid  from the very beginning,  as it confirmed that there will be no international conference on Syria without preconditions France wanted to impose to support the opposition, but the conference will be held and the French desire will not be met, and this indicates that France has lost its status.

 

Concerning the position of French President Francois Hollande on Mali , Dumas said the French military operation there did not end the problems referring to the unrest in Chad and Niger.

The statements made by Dumas, who was head of French diplomacy in the era of the late French President Francois Mitterrand came on the occasion of releasing a book entitled “the maze of my life,” which is described as a real museum for a person he had met with Picasso ,Lacan , Maria Murano, , Pavarotti and Gorbachev…
