“Droub Tishreen Cycling Race” in Lattakia moves to second stage

The second stage of the First “Droub Tishreen Cycling Race” began on Monday from al-Amer Restaurant junction in Qirdaha in Lattakia and will end in the coastal and mountainous town of Slinfeh with a course of 32 km long.

Cyclists will pass through several villages separated from each other by a series of hills, cliffs, springs, natural woodlands, forests and farms in a matchless magnificent landscape before reaching Slinfeh, which is 1130 meters above sea level and is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Syrian coast.

After the race, the participating teams from the Russia Federation, Tatarstan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Palestine and Syria will plant trees in some of the sites that have been recently exposed to fires, including the Shuh and Cedar Reserve, which is among the most important natural reserves in Syria.

The race, which will continue until October 6th, has received wide international, Arab and local media coverage due to the messages it carries about Syria’s recovery after the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab army over terrorism and about Syria’s tourist destinations and traditions.

The first stage of the race started yesterday from al-Dalyeh town in Jableh city and it passed through several wonderful villages before ending in Qirdaha city.

The race is organized by the General Sports Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism.
