Dr. Naya Hassan is Global Peace Ambassador from Syria

“ peace is a very important goal in itself and a policy which we should follow .It should  be reflected positively on  society . We must all seek to achieve it at different levels, mainly personally and socially ,  to realize   development and prosperity”  Dr. Naya Talal Hassan  at Tishreen University Hospital in Lattakia province  said in an interview with Syriatimes e-newspaper .

The young doctor   has  recently been selected as   Global Peace Ambassador from Syria for 2020-2022 by the Global Peace Chain  ( GPC)..

Dr.Hassan is also a researcher, violinist,  a social activist and a volunteer at a number of civil society associations.    

The core objective of  the Global Peace  Chain ,  which includes peace ambassadors from most of the world , is to  spread  the peace message globally  and cultivate the culture of tolerance, inclusivity, togetherness and harmony across the world.

The GPC is providing youths a platform to amplify their voice for peace building  and basic rights  out of  its belief that young people can and must play an active role in fostering peace and act as peace ambassadors in their respective communities.

Dr. Hassan underscored the fact that peace is an essential part of human life. A peaceful and secure environment is critical to every society since it affects all aspects of economic and social development

 “All energies and resources , which are used in making wars, destruction, and killing should be turned to support poor countries  and  science achievements . Man is not an enemy of man.  We all have the same fate and  the novel coronavirus has demonstrated this fact ” according to Dr. Hassan.

She made it clear that in the light of measures adopted to address COVID-19 , Dr.Hassan, who is a UN volunteer,   took advantages of the period of quarantine and followed several  medical courses  via internet held by the World Health Organization WHO , Harvard Medical School and the  Global Health Network .

The courses focused on Emerging respiratory viruses COVID-19: methods for detection, prevention, response and control

“ On Earth Day, I participated in a message from my country, Syria, to the world. I  made a video of the beautiful scenery of our country, including roses, flowers, animals, trees, the sea, and a mountain  to let the world see the beauty of the planet that we live on and belong to” Dr. Hassan indicated.

She underlined that  everyone   is  responsible for making  our earth a better place  to live in and save  nature that has embraced all human beings since their  existence and not turning against it .

“ I have worked hard to develop my knowledge in clinical research and academic writing and participated in international research projects that will be published soon “ Dr. Hassan  said.

“  I felt very proud to represent my lovely country Syria as  Global Peace Ambassador . It is my message to the world that Syria is still the country of peace and security and the Syrian youths are able to play a prominent role in the world because they are creative, skilled and talented. The Syrian youths always seek excellence and success   to raise the name of their beloved country Syria in international peace and science circles. Science is my way and goal because it will lead us to the safety shore ” the young doctor expressed.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Hassan has participated in a number of medical activities and competitions and got advanced positions and honoring certificates.
