New York, (ST) – Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met on Wednesday in New York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian and the accompanying delegation.
The two ministers exchanged views on enhancing means of cooperation between the two countries, and expressed their satisfaction with the high level of coordination at various levels.
The two sides also discussed the need to continue advancing bilateral relations to achieve the aspirations of the two peoples in Syria and Iran.
During a video meeting, Minister Al-Miqdaddiscussed with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi means to develop bilateral relations between the two countries.
They discussed the need to strengthen these relations in the economic, commercial and cultural fields that serve the interest of the two brotherly peoples, as well as coordination and mutual support in international forums.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, and they discussed coordination in the areas of combating terrorism and ensuring security and stability in both countries in a way that preserves the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and Iraq.
The necessity of upgrading relations between the two countries (Syria and Iraq) in many areas that are in the interest of the two brotherly peoples was also discussed.
