A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry said in a statement reported by the Korean Central News Agency: “Terrorists of various types recently carried out a terrorist attack with military support from external forces on various areas in northern Syria, destroying safe cities and villages and killing innocent civilians, committing heinous crimes against humanity that can never be justified.”

He added: “We express our full support and solidarity with the Syrian government and people in their just struggle to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the efforts of Arab countries to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East region.”
