Dozens of Palestinians in Nablus city call for saving the lives of prisoners in Israeli jails
OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Sep.27, (ST)- Dozens of Palestinians in the city of Nablus in the West Bank demanded- during a solidarity stand today- the international community and human rights and humanitarian institutions to urgently intervene, to save the lives of prisoners in Israeli occupation jails, especially patients and hunger strikers.
Wafa News Agency reported that the participants in the stand, which was organized by the Palestinian National Forces in cooperation with the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Prisoner Club, raised the Palestinian flag and pictures of 30 prisoners who are on an open hunger strike for the third day, and a picture of the cancer-stricken prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid.
The participants stressed the need to go ahead with supporting the prisoners, and to show solidarity with them in light of the violations and brutal practices they are subjected to by the occupation authorities.
It is noteworthy that about 5,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including about 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
