Dozens of Palestinians in Gaza strip participate in solidarity stand with prisoners in Israeli jails
OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, (ST)_Dozens of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip participated on Sunday in a solidarity stand with the Palestinian prisoners held in the Israeli jails.
According to Maan news agency, the stand was organized by the Palestinian national forces outside the doors of the International Committee of the Red Cross where the participants in the event raised the Palestinian flag and the pictures of the Palestinian prisoners, who are on hunger strike.
They called on the international community and human rights institutions to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their grave violations against prisoners and release them immediately.
Seven Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails continue with their open-ended hunger strike amid concerns over their life given their deteriorating health condition.
The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs Commission said in a statement on Saturday that the hunger striking prisoners are Kayed Al-Fasfous, who has been on hunger strike for 109 days, Miqdad Al-Qawasmeh, 102 days, Alaa Al-Araj, 84 days, Hisham Abu Hawwash, 75 days, Shadi Abu Aker, 68 days, Eyad Al-Hreimi, 39 days, Rateb Hreibat, 23 days and Loui Al-Ashqar, 21.
The Israeli occupation authorities are incarcerating more than 5,000 Palestinian and Arab prisoners for resisting its occupation of their homeland. Many of these prisoners have been in prison for more than 26 years.
