Dozens of Companies Take Part in Food Expo

DAMASCUS, (ST) – With the participation of dozens of specialized food industrial companies, activities of the Food and Packaging Industries Exhibition”Food Expo” were launched recently at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus. The event was organized by the Delta Group for Economy and Business with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Federation Chambers of Commerce and the Syrian industry.

During the exhibition, the Industry Minister Kamal Eddin Tomah confirmed that the timing of this exhibition is “a message to the inside and abroad that the Syrians are going on in production and work,” pointing out that the exhibitions are social marketing economic event to identify consumers on products.

For his part, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Hassan Safiyya said that the exhibition “shows the continuation of the Syrian industry despite the current crisis in Syria,” pointing to the diversity and multiplicity of products.

For his part, Chairman of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce Ghassan Mohammed Qalla’I said that the Syrian industrialistis still producing under all circumstances and the Syrian trader is shopping locally and imports to meet the needs of the consumer.

For his part, Chief Executive President of Delta Group, the organizer of the exhibition Ghiath Chmma’i stressed that the establishment of this specialized exhibition in food industry is considered as an evidence on “the recovery of the productionindustrial sector”, pointing to the need for the continued presence of industrial food companies and businessmen in order to promote the national economy and open the way for national products and seek to make them at the level of competing industries in different countries.

It is worth mentioned that the tenth session of the food industry and packaging exhibition Food Expo 2014 was opened on 2 December 2014 with the participation of 30 national food industrial companies.
