On July 7th, Donetsk People’s Republic Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova announced that Syria will become one of Donetsk’s largest partners in maritime trade.
She said that trade between the two countries could include metal, industry, machine building and agricultural products.
“Maritime trade is recovering and Syria may become one of our main trading partners,” TASS news agency quoted Nikonorova as saying.
She added that the Donetsk People’s Republic not only rebuilt Mariupol port after it was liberated from Ukrainian forces, but also fully operated it.
Nikonorova indicated in this context that the Donetsk plan aims to load about half a million tons of products through the port until the end of the year.
Earlier, Nikonorova confirmed the remarkable growth of relations between Syria and the Donetsk Republic in many areas.
