Donbas region and a number of liberated regions start voting in the referendum on joining Russia

Donetsk and Lugansk (ST): This morning, in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the liberated regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye, the process of voting for the referendum on joining the Russian Federation began.

According to the Russia Today website, voting will continue for five days until the 27th of September. For security reasons, voting will take place during the first four days from homes, where electoral committees carry ballot boxes and roam residential neighborhoods and homes to collect citizens’ votes, in order to ensure the safety of citizens and avoid crowding at centers, but on the last day the voting will be at the polling stations

In order to guarantee the rights of refugees from Donbas and liberated areas in the Russian territory, polling stations were set up in the regions of eastern Russia and opened their doors to receive refugees and vote from the morning hours.
