Diverse artistic works at the “feminine experience 4” exhibition in Damascus

Head of the Directorate of Culture in Damascus Waseem Al- Moubbayed and Director of the Arab Cultural Center Rabab Ahmad have recently opened a collective exhibition titled “Feminine Experiences 4” at the Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh.

The exhibition includes diverse works for 26 women artists in photography, paintings, engraving on stones, and Arabic calligraphy.

Artist and photographer, Zakaa Izzat Al-Kahhal, the organizer of the exhibition, told Syria Times e- newspaper “the idea formed because we wanted to hold a distinguished exhibition. We were seven talented artists and now we are 26 artists. The exhibited works are various.”

About her participation, Zakaa displayed three photographs depicting Bedouin environment. The first one showcases a woman who works hard for her family and has a natural beauty. This woman is considered a symbol for Arabic women.

“The second one is the Arabian horse which is a symbol of originality, beauty, and Arabic environment. While the third showed a scene from the Bedouin environment,” she added.

Artist Basima Al- Hariri participated with two paintings depicting nature and using oil colors to reflect hope, ambition, and life.

She sees that the exhibition as an opportunity to be acquainted with the others’ new works.

On her part, artist Rama Al- Badawi, participated with a work of painting on silk using ink.

In her third participation, her work expressed the idea of being free from social restrictions. Rama believes this exhibition is a call for women to free themselves from inside from all old social ideas.

Young lawyer and artist Alaa Al- Beesh showed calligraphy work. Alaa sees the exhibition as a good opportunity to gain more experience and meet other artists.

Nariman Al- Hamammi, who also displayed calligraphy work, said that her participation in such events would enrich her talent and improve her works as being familiar with new art works.
