Occupied Al-Quds- (ST): More than 10,000 displaced Palestinians, most of them children and women, are in one of the shelter centers set up by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the besieged Gaza Strip, although they can only accommodate 500 people at their best.
The continued Israeli occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 11th day has caused the displacement of more than a million Palestinians, who are suffering from catastrophic conditions. There is no electricity, water, or food in the shelter centers. In one of those centers in the Nuseirat camp in the middle of Gaza Strip, you can hear the groans of the sick and wounded who cannot find anything to quench their thirst or provide them with treatment.
Those in charge of the shelter centers told SANA news correspondent: We are living in a disaster and we are on the edge of the spread of epidemics among children due to the interruption of potable water and the lack of cleaning means. There is no food or milk available for children.
Doctor Muhammad Abu Amsha, whose displacement from Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip to the Nuseirat camp took several days, five members of his family were martyred in Beit Hanoun, describes the situation inside the shelter centers as catastrophic, adding: As a doctor, I cannot provide any assistance, as there are no medications or sterilization materials available and as a result of the occupation preventing the entry of medicines and supplies into the Gaza Strip since the beginning of its aggression on the seventh of this month, unfortunately we are threatened by the spread of epidemics inside the shelter centers”.
In turn, Muhammad Hamdan from Beit Hanoun narrates how the occupation aircraft attacked his house with bombs and missiles, turning it into rubble, where he miraculously escaped death, saying: 21 of my relatives and neighbors were martyred, and the bombing destroyed an entire neighborhood on Naim Street, which is located in the heart of Beit Hanoun. This is a crime and ethnic cleansing. An ethnic act committed by the Israeli occupation, which did not leave a place without throwing bombs and missiles at it. He noted that dozens of martyrs and wounded are still under the rubble of destroyed homes.
The stories of death caused by the Israeli occupation in its brutal aggression cannot be counted. Every Palestinian in the afflicted sector has his own sad story, some of whom lost their homes and their families and do not know whether they are among the living or martyrs, and some of them are still making distress calls from under the rubble of the houses and towers that was destroyed by the occupation, and it may remain without a response due to the faltering arrival of civil defense teams, which were exhausted and many of its cadres were martyred as a result of the occupation’s direct targeting of the teams, in addition to the severe fuel shortage it suffers from.
