With the participation of 120 women, the activities of Al-Shahba Women’s Exhibition, held by the Businesswomen’s Committee of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry was opened on Friday at the East Hall in Al-Shahba Rose complex.
The three-day event included handmade products including embroideries, crochet, clothes, decorative accessories, painting on glass , candle making, sweets and jams, which Aleppo is famous for .
Head of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, Eng. Faris al-Shihabi, said in a statement to a SANA reporter that the exhibition is a continuation of the exhibition “Aleppo Women… Challenge, Resilience and Creativity,” which was held in 2015 when terrorist groups were besieging some neighborhoods of Aleppo, with the aim of proving that Aleppo women are able to confront and overcome difficulties and challenges.
Al-Shihabi explained that this exhibition was distinguished by the wide participation by all segments of society, indicating the exhibition focused on household industries, with the aim of encouraging women to be creative, open markets and help them export in a way that contributes to serving the national economy.
Head of the Businesswomen’s Committee of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, Annie Markossian, stressed that the women aspire to be empowered and to participate in the national production, referring to the fact that a group of women joined training courses at the Aleppo Chamber of Industry with the aim of establishing their own project.
A number of participants stressed that the exhibition is an important opportunity to promote their various products and confirm that Aleppo women are capable of creativity and excellence in various fields.
