Discussions to develop Syrian-Belarusian parliamentary relations

On December 1st, the Syrian-Belarusian Friendship Committee in the People’s Assembly discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus, Yuri Sloka, ways to strengthen and develop parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries in a manner that serves the interests of the two peoples. 

 

The head and members of the committee stressed the importance of continuing to work to strengthen relations between Syria and Belarus in all fields, especially the exchange of experiences and the promotion of economic cooperation and trade exchange to confront the unjust economic siege imposed on the two countries. 

The head and members of the committee praised the positions of the Republic of Belarus in support of Syria’s steadfastness in its war on terrorism. 

In turn, Ambassador Sloka indicated that today’s meeting is an important step in the service of developing parliamentary relations. 

Ambassador Sloka indicated the importance of joint work at the international level to serve the interests of the two countries, unify their positions and enhance their steadfastness in the face of external pressures which the United States and the West are trying to impose on Syria and Belarus.
