Discussions during the 3rd day of the 5th Syrian-Russian meeting focus on cultural cooperation   

Within its third day activities, the 5th Syrian-Russian meeting on following up the International Conference on the Return of Syrian Refugees and Displaced discussed this morning financial and cultural issues. 

A cooperation agreement on joint Syrian-Russian work to restore the Arch of Triumph in the archeological Syrian city of Palmyra was signed as part of today’s activities. The agreement was signed between the Syria Trust for Development, the Syrian Ministry of Culture and the Institute for the History of Material Culture at Russian Academy of Sciences 

An exhibition titled (Maaloula- Nikolskoye.. Joint Destinies”) was opened yesterday at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts. The exhibition showcased paintings depicting the terrorist acts committed against the monastery of Saint Thecla in the countryside of Damascus and the monastery of Nikolo Vasilevsky in the People’s Republic of Donetsk. 

Moreover, a photography exhibition showing the ancient historical Russian monuments, which are inscribed on the World Heritage List, was also opened.  The exhibition displayed ancient inscriptions that illustrate the contents of some books and postcards obtained from the electronic collection of the Russian Presidential Library. 

Activities of the second day of the 5th Syrian-Russian meeting included signing a number of agreements in the field of education and scientific research and discussing topics related to culture, cinema, economy, trade, finance, customs and financial control.
