MOSCOW,(ST)_Head of the Popular Front for Change and Liberation delegation has underscored that the bloc of resolving the crisis in Syria peacefully through national dialogue will definitely achieve victory.
Qadri Jamil’s remark was made on Tuesday after the Syrian opposition delegation’s meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, in Moscow.
He said: “dialogue between the opposing sides is the only way out of the current situation. In the past, this idea was theoretical, now it can be put into practice and become reality.”
He added that the forces that used to be against dialogue, both in and outside Syria, are slowly accepting that it is the only option, according to RIA NOVOSTI.
“That is great progress. We are currently discussing details of negotiations: which opposition groups will participate, what the agenda will be, and how all of it can be done quickly,” Jamil said.
‘mocking attitude’
He noted to what he described ‘mocking attitude’ of the Europeans towards terrorist extremists as they (the Europeans) allows them (extremists) to come to Syria and do not allow them to return the European states from which they came.
“If the West does not response to the call for halting flow of terrorists and weapons to Syria, it is difficult to talk about reaching international agreement on peaceful solution,” Jamil said.
He cited that he ministerial committee entrusted with implementation of the political plan to resolve the crisis is communicating with all parties to achieve national reconciliation.
“We are seeking to unify the Syrian people in order to halt foreign meddling and flow of gunmen to pave the ground for real national dialogue,” Jamil added.
Negotiation table
For his part, Minister of National Reconciliation, Ali Haidar, said previously in an interview with Voice of Russia radio that the delegation had brought concrete proposals to Moscow for the resolution of the crisis in Syria.
“We are still paving the way for launching the comprehensive national dialogue,” Haidar said, noting that all matters can be discussed on negotiation table and among Syrians.
“Our visit to Russia is not only to exchange viewpoints, but also to thank the Russian government for its important role at international level,” Haidar said.
The Syrian internal opposition delegation arrived in Moscow on April 16th to revive consultation talks with Russia.
