Dermatology Hospital in Damascus receives a qualitative device for diagnosing melanomas provided by Russia

Damascus, (ST) – The Dermatology and Venereal University Hospital in Damascus on Wednesday received a qualitative device for diagnosing melanomas, provided by the Russian National Center specializing in Dermatology,

In a statement to SANA correspondent, the Director General of the Dermatology Hospital at Damascus University Ali Ammar said that the device is one of the qualitative devices for diagnosing melanomas through Artificial Intelligence, and it is available for the first time in Syria.

“It has a major role in diagnosing skin diseases accurately”, he added.

For his part, Dr. Dmitry Omutnykh, Head of the Association of Pharmaceutical Importers and Exporters in Russia clarified that the device is very advanced and specializes in screening early skin cancer using Artificial Intelligence.

He said that the device was presented to the Dermatology and Venereal University Hospital in Damascus, and will be presented to specialized centers in the governorates of Tartous, Aleppo, and Latakia to serve patients with skin diseases in general, and cancer in particular.

Dr. Dmitry Budin, the first specialist at the Russian National Center for Dermatology in Russia, said that the device’s technology is very advanced.

He added that it consists of equipment and devices for examining the skin, laser and radiology, in addition to dermatoscopes.

Budin pointed to the importance of the center, which includes all dermatologists in Russia, who number more than a thousand doctors providing therapeutic services and carrying out specialized research experiments.
