Der Ezzour clans ward off ISIL attack on several towns

DER EZZOUR, (ST)_Locals of the eastern countryside of Der Ezzour have warded off ISIL-linked terrorists’ attack on towns of Abo Hamam, al-Jerzi and Abo Hardob, the official news agency (SANA) said on Saturday.

The agency quoted a source at the province of Der Ezzour as saying that the locals arrived at al-Nosor junction, located between Abo Hardob and al-Jerzi towns, and imposed control over it after defeating the terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) from there.

Two days ago, the Syrian TV channel reported that 1200 young men from al-Qalamoun area outside Damascus are to join the ongoing popular revolution against ISIL in Der Ezzour countryside.

The political analyst Taleb Ibrahim said in an interview with the Syrian TV channel that the popular revolution erupted because of the immoral practices of the ISIL-linked terrorists.

In this regard, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel said- on August 6th– that al-Sh’etat clans started rebellion against the organization of the ISIL that had tried  to force the clans to pledge allegiance to Abo Bakr al-Baghdadi .

Al-Sh’etat clans destroyed the ISIL’s headquarters in several towns  and forced Omar al-Chechani to withdraw from the eastern countryside of Der Ezzour, al-Mayadden TV channel added.
