Deputy Speaker of Slovak Parliament calls on EU to abandon useless sanctions against Russia

Bratislava, (ST) – Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Juraj Planar, has called on the European Union countries to abandon the useless sanctions imposed on Russia.

Planar said in a commentary on Tuesday that “the countries of the Union should reassess their positions towards the war in Ukraine and invest in conducting peaceful negotiations and finding a solution to the causes that led to the occurrence of the war, not sending weapons.”  He referred that the Union “provided 2.5 billion euros in aid to Ukraine without having to One being able to track where that money ended up.”

Planar pointed out that the highest price of the sanctions imposed on Russia is being paid by Eastern European countries, where prices have reached very high levels, and its economic situation is getting more complicated due to the current circumstances.
