Dendi: The Israeli occupation seeks, through massacres and genocide crimes in Gaza Strip, to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Delegation of Syria to the United Nations Al-Hakam Dendi, affirmed that the escalation in the rate of barbaric Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in Gaza Strip, is part of the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people to displace them from their land and change the demographic character.

 Dendi said in a statement during a UN General Assembly informal meeting on the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip: “The Israeli occupation has been bombing Gaza Strip for six weeks by air, land and sea, causing the death of more than 13 thousand civilians, half of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 30,000 wounded, while the number of missing people under the rubble reached more than 6,000, including more than 4,000 children and women.

Dendi pointed out that the cheap lie that Israel made and that was adopted by the American administration, regarding the presence of fighters from the Palestinian factions in Al-Shifa Hospital, has fallen resoundingly, exposing the failure of the occupation forces and their fabricated story to world public opinion.

Dendi said that, two days ago, the Israeli occupation forces bombed the Al-Fakhoura school affiliated with UNRWA in Gaza Strip which led to the martyrdom of more than 200 displaced people. This crime constitutes one of the many Israeli violations against civilians in Gaza Strip, and it is added to the hundreds of massacres committed by the occupation with a green light from the American administration amid shameful international silence and disability.

Dendi stressed that what Israel seeks to do through its brutal war on the Palestinian people, which enjoys Western support, is to liquidate the Palestinian cause by committing massacres and crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people.

Dendi said: “This is the time for truth and a return to the conscience that has faded on the part of the collective West, and has led thousands to take to the streets of Western countries to denounce Israel’s crimes and demand that it stops the war of extermination against the Palestinians.”

 Dendi added: “While the Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the continuing barbaric aggression of the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian people, it also condemns some Western countries’ cover-up of the Israeli indiscriminate bombing and killing of civilians.

Dendi stressed that Syria stands alongside the brotherly Palestinian people in their struggle to liberate their occupied land and establish their independent, sovereign state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.

Dendi announced that the Syrian delegation would join the statements delivered by delegation of Libya on behalf of the Arab Group, Venezuela on behalf of the Group of Friends for Defending the Charter, and Pakistan on behalf of a group of countries. He indicated that this meeting provides the opportunity for member states to find out the truth about what is happening in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the besieged Gaza Strip, and to expose the falsity and misleading claims and campaigns of the Israeli occupation that aim to cover up the genocide being committed against the brotherly Palestinian people.
