Hundreds of protesters today rallied in front of a number of Australian universities to protest against Israel’s aggression on Gaza, calling on the university administration to cut its ties with Israeli companies.
Reuters reported that demonstrators rallied today to demand that the University of Sydney, which is one of the largest Australian universities, to withdraw its investments from companies with ties to “Israel”, the same demands called for by students in the United States, Canada and France, and other protesters announced similar sit-ins at universities in Melbourne, Canberra and other Australian cities.
According to the media, protest sites in Australia continue to experience a peaceful atmosphere and there have been no raids or arrests of students by the police.
A number of student demonstrators considered that their country’s government had not done enough to push for peace and chanted slogans against Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his government.
