Demonstrations in Italy against the sanctions imposed on Russia

Yesterday, the Sovereign and Popular Political Union of Italy organized demonstrations to protest against the sanctions imposed on Russia and the supply of weapons to the Kiev regime.

Italian media reported that Rome witnessed several demonstrations and protests in this regard, as the union organized the largest of them in the famous Santi Apostoli Square in the center of the capital, under the slogan “No war, no sanctions, but peace and work.”

The demonstrators denounced the government’s policy on supplying Kiev with weapons and sanctions against Russia, and carried banners reading, “NATO and the European Union leave us alone.”

The demonstrators demanded the Italian authorities to solve the severe social and economic problems in the country, caused by the sharp rise in energy and food prices.

According to the latest public opinion polls, about 60 percent of Italians oppose the supply of arms to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.
